In a cafe, cover the price column and choose what you actually want. Uncover it only once you've decided.
Why this matters
We almost never choose the food. We choose the amount, and then pick food to fit it.
What to do
Sit down in a cafe and open the menu with your palm or a napkin over the right-hand column. Read the names and choose what you actually want right now, not what is a reasonable thing to order. Stay with the choice for a minute so it is not simply the first line you saw. Take your hand away and look at the price. Order what you chose if you can afford it, and notice whether it matches what you usually take.
