You usually know less about your own city than about a foreign one you spent three days in.

Pick the place in your own city you have walked past for years and never entered: a museum, an old church, a water tower, a local history room. Check the opening hours first — half of these places close earlier than you think. Go in like a tourist: take the leaflet, read the labels properly instead of skimming. Find one exhibit or one fact you did not know, even though you live here. Ask the attendant something; they usually know more than the signs say. Walk home a different way.
