What to do
Find somewhere you can come once, with no commitment: an animal shelter, a food bank, a park or shoreline cleanup, a local festival, your neighbourhood chat. Write to them today and ask plainly whether they need hands this weekend and what to bring. Turn up on time and do whatever work you are given, even if that means washing bowls and moving boxes. Do not film anything for the first half hour — work first. At the end, ask when they will need help again.
