Why this matters
For most people a car is a conversation that drags on for years without moving. One phone call and one date move it further than six months of thinking.
What to do
Decide today what you actually need: to get a licence, to get back behind the wheel after a break, or simply to sit in the car you have been thinking about for years. Find two or three driving schools or dealerships nearby and call them instead of browsing websites — on the phone you get the price, the waiting time and the free slots at once. Book a specific date within the next two weeks, otherwise it will slide. Before the first lesson or test drive, write down three questions for the instructor or the salesperson. Straight after the drive, note what was scarier and what was easier than you expected. Put the next step in your calendar: a second lesson, or an honest answer to yourself about whether you are buying.
Afterwards
How many years have you put this off, and what exactly stopped you every time?
