Public gratitude

Loudly thank bus driver when exiting
Why this matters
Most words of thanks stay unsaid — we're afraid of looking odd or holding someone up. But routine, invisible work (a bus driver, a cashier, a delivery courier) gets acknowledged least often, even though it shapes mood more than we notice.
What to do
Next time you get off a bus, leave a café, or receive a delivery — thank the person for something specific: not just "thanks" but "thanks for driving carefully" or "thanks for getting here on time". Make eye contact and say it loud enough to be heard. Don't mumble it on your way out the door.
Afterwards
What would have stopped you from doing this before — and what actually happened when you said it out loud?
