The Word "Should"

Two hours without "should" or "have to". Finish the sentence honestly: I want, I'm afraid, I won't.
Why this matters
The word should hides whoever actually decided. Remove it and you have to admit who that was.
What to do
Pick two hours when you will be talking to people, and ban the words should, have to and must for yourself. Every time a sentence wants one of them, finish it honestly with something else: I want to, I am afraid to, I promised, I will not, it does not pay me. Do not cancel your commitments over this — the task is not to drop obligations but to call them by their real names. Watch especially the sentences about yourself: I have to answer, I have to call. Notice where nothing honest fits in place of the word at all, and mark those cases separately. After two hours, look at that list — that is usually where somebody else's errands turn up.
