Five songs that aren't your thing
calm growth 30 min +90 XP
Five tracks from music you normally don't listen to — in full, no skipping
Why this matters
Musical taste narrows on its own: algorithms feed you more of what you already played, and the circle closes. An unfamiliar genre almost always feels alien for the first thirty seconds — which is exactly why you have to hear it out instead of judging by the opening.
What to do
Listen to these five tracks in a row, each in full and without skipping, on headphones and not as background: Nina Simone — Sinnerman (jazz, ten minutes of mounting trance); Rachmaninoff — Vocalise (classical without a single word); The HU — Yuve Yuve Yu (Mongolian throat-singing rock); Marija Šerifović — Molitva (Serbian pop); Manu Chao — Clandestino (multilingual street folk). Do nothing else alongside — no feed, no dishes. After each track, write one sentence about what you felt, even if it's "irritation" or "boredom". An honest negative answer counts here just as much as delight.
Afterwards
Which track would you have switched off at the thirty-second mark if you hadn't promised to finish it — and how did it end?
