Create rhythm or melody from objects around you
Why this matters
Rhythm needs no ear and no instrument — only the willingness to drum on a table with people around.
What to do
Gather five or six things on the table with different sounds: a mug, a glass of water, a book, keys, a pot, a box. Tap each one and line them up from the lowest sound to the highest. Set a simple count of four and keep it with your foot while your hands add one object at a time. When you get eight bars that hold together, record them on your phone. Listen back — the recording shows you what you cannot hear from inside it.
