Why this matters
Neighbours usually meet because of a leak or a row. One hour with a kettle changes who you will turn to when something happens.
What to do
Pick two or three neighbours and invite them in person — at the door or when you meet, not by a message in the group chat. Name a specific day, hour and length: Saturday at four, about an hour, tea and a pie. Do not lay a table for ten: a kettle, something simple with the tea and a clean kitchen is enough. Seat everyone so nobody ends up at the head of the table, and start with a simple question: who moved here when. The first time, stay off building finances and complaints about the management company — that drags the evening the wrong way. After an hour, be the one to say it is time: a short gathering happens again, a long one does not.
