Buy 5 tickets in 5 different locations
Why this matters
People buy the ticket not for the money but for the fifteen minutes when anything is still possible. Worth watching that happen in yourself.
What to do
First decide the amount you would not mind losing entirely, and take no more than that with you. Buy five tickets in five different places: a kiosk, a petrol station, a supermarket, a post office, a shopping centre. The point is the route, not the tickets: walk between the stops and watch who else buys them and with what face. Do not scratch them as you go, wait until you have all five. Most likely all five will be blank — that is the normal outcome, not bad luck. If something does come up, spend it the same day on something small and pleasant.
Afterwards
What was I actually hoping for when I paid money for a coincidence?
