Insect world
calm ritual 10 min +35 XP
Observe one insect for at least 5 minutes without distraction.
Why this matters
We notice insects only when they are in the way. Five quiet minutes of looking moves them from nuisance to neighbour.
What to do
Find an insect that is not about to fly off: an ant on the path, a beetle on a wall, a spider in the corner of the balcony, a bumblebee on a flower. Sit or crouch so your shadow does not fall on it, and put your phone in your pocket. Just watch for five minutes without helping and without interfering: where it goes, what it drags, where it turns around, what it walks around. Note one thing that surprised you — usually it is the stubbornness, or how fast it changes its mind. Do not touch it or move it, even with good intentions. When you stand up, look around: how much of that movement is happening in the same square metre.
Afterwards
What else in your life do you notice only when it gets in your way?
