We treat our own days as minor until we lay one out on a front page.
What to do
Take an A3 sheet or lay two A4s side by side and rule it like a newspaper: masthead on top, three columns, space for a photo. The lead story is whatever actually took up the most of today, even if it was a queue at the pharmacy. Give it a big headline and about twenty lines of text. Add a short item, the real weather, a classified ad, a quote of the day from someone you spoke to, and one photo or drawing. Write like a reporter — from outside, no 'I felt sad', just what happened and who said what. It will eat half a day, and that's fine: the last column is always the most honest.
